Fall Update

October 30, 2020 By Kay

Seems the end of the world hasn’t been postponed after all. My world
anyway.  The summer didn’t end well for me and my sons, since Bob, my
husband of many years, left us in August for what we very much hope will
be a kinder world. He hadn’t been well for some time and perhaps, for
him, it was a relief.  Now we are picking ourselves up and trying to
carry on – not with much help from Baxter the dog, who continues to bark
furiously at passing dogs, cats, squirrels, raccoons and, of course,
post people. Still, he’s warm and furry and his companionship helps a lot.

Obviously I haven’t written much lately, but I do have some ideas for
short stories and hope to get back in the groove before long. Meanwhile,
most of my books are available online.

Stay well – and Happy Reading.

Keep smiling, keep reading, stay healthy – and this perilous spring of 2020 will surely turn into an optimistic summer.

April 2, 2020 By Kay

Hmm … it seems that 2020 wasn’t the start of the healthy and peaceful
decade I predicted. Still, most of us are coping with the restrictions –
and  the lack of toilet paper that came with spring –  so, fingers
crossed, life will get better before long.

Bob and I are well so far, and son, Adrian, keeps us supplied with
groceries and soap. Other son, Nathan, is working from home in Nanaimo.
His wife, Barbara, and our five grandcats are coping well with this very
different world. And am I using all this unexpected time to write? Not
much, but I’m gearing up for it once the dust settles.

Good luck and good wishes to everyone.  Stay well.  Please.

Best wishes and good reading for 2020

December 10, 2019 By Kay

The middle part of 2019 didn’t exactly go as planned since my nose decided to make its presence felt again.  Ten hours of poking about to remove unwanted cells led to two lovely black eyes and a face that made friends collapse with laughter – or cry. Dog totally unmoved either way provided I continued to provide him with food. All well now. I look as normal as I ever did  and plan to get back to writing in the New Year. With many thanks to wonderful Dr. Kossintseva.
Good wishes and good reading to all in 2020.

Happy News!

August 5, 2019 By Kay

As promised in my Spring news, I did eventually get back to the world of writing after Bob recovered nicely from his trip to hospital – and I’m delighted to say that Women’s Weekly has recently accepted my short story, A Proposal, for publication at some as yet unspecified date.
This was great to hear after a rather fraught early summer while I waited for a date to have some problem cells removed from my nose.  All went well and I’m told I now look quite human again. Even Baxter The Dog seems to think so, and I do trust his opinion.
Enjoy our unpredictable summer weather, whatever it is.
