For the first time in a while I’ve completed a new short story and sent it off to an editor. It’s a great feeling after months when life and the loss of several old friends has interfered with any writerly instincts. Fingers crossed the editor will like it. Meanwhile I’m working on another story.
Bob and I celebrated our special anniversary in April. In the end we decided against the humongous party we’d had in mind and settled happily for a small family party at our favourite Greek restaurant. Seems our enthusiasm for humongous anything has declined over the years. Small is definitely beautiful. The same is likely to apply to our holiday plans for this year. In other words, we haven’t made any yet, although we do hope to visit Nathan and Barbara in Nanaimo after they’ve recovered from their latest home renovations. Perhaps by then the deer will have finished eating the garden and the goldfish will be thriving in their new pond.
Good wishes to all for a warm and happy summer enjoying lots of good books.
